a commemorative plaque for the support provided to the “Rio 2016” torch relay by Nic. J. Theocarakis S.A. The Vice-President of Sales and Marketing of Nissan Europe, at the time, and currently Chairperson of the AMIEO* region, Guillaume Cartier, also took part in the relay.

A year earlier, on April 21, 2016, Lefteris Petrounias took part in the Olympic Flame torch relay ceremony in Ancient Olympia, for the Rio Olympic Games as the first torch-bearer of the Olympic Flame, receiving it from Arch-Priestess Katerina Lehou. The torch relay was supported by Nissan-Nic. J. Theocarakis S.A.
and Nissan cars were provided for the needs of the entire relay in Greece. This initiative received an award from the Hellenic Olympic Committee. Nissan Europe’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the time, currently Chairperson of the AMIEO* region, Guillaume Cartier, also took part in the torch relay.
