The new decade was a time of growth
for the car market and the automotive sector in our country as the year 2000 closed with a record performance in
terms of passenger car registrations (290,225 vehicles).

The Central Peloponnese Motorway, the A7, also known
as "Moreas", was completed and the Corinth-Tripoli National Road, a motorway of modern specifications, was opened to traffic. However, the Athens- Corinth Road, whose construction was completed in 1962,
and the Corinth-Patras section, remained almost unchanged since the 1960s.
