An amendment was brought to Parliament on September 12th, reducing the tax encumbrance on cars and repealed the presumptive tax for a factory price up to 50,000 euros. This amendment abolished a provision
that had been in place
for a few months but was never implemented as regards to exemptions from the presumptive
tax on passenger cars
up to 2,000 c.c. The new provision, applicable
for cars already in circulation, provided for an age-based reduction
of the presumptive tax. However, if a car fell
under the presumptive scheme, the relevant
tax was calculated on
the basis of the engine’s cubic capacity, i.e. in the same manner as in the past. For cars aged 5-10 years, the presumptive tax was reduced by 15%, for vehicles aged 10-15 years by 20%.
