championships and dozens of victories in Greek races. The team was structured in line with international standards, the first of its type in our country, while its members often participated in the factory team of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., during the period of its participation in races in World and European championships, and, of course, the International Rally Acropolis. In 1979, Nikos Kelesakos, formerly a co-driver of G. Moschous, was appointed as head of the team. The team’s mechanics, who daily maintained customer cars, had reached a high level of technical expertise thanks to their involvement in the races, and who in adverse conditions could change a differential axle in 4.5-5 minutes and a gearbox in 8-13 minutes during the Acropolis Rally, often without even being aware in advance of the specific damage.
Tasos “Siroko” Livieratos - Manolis Makrinos at their first race with Nissan Sporteam in a Datsun 710, at the Spring Rally, 12-13 March 1977. The year ended successfully, since the duo won the championship, the first for Nissan Sporteam.
