P. 241

Nic. J. Theocarakis S.A. will be long-lasting, precisely because it is based on the solid foundations of the past, something which its own history, as laid out in the previous pages, demonstrates.
The factual material of the publication was based on original archival material, as recorded in the “Indicative Bibliography”, especially the archive of Nic. J. Theocarakis S.A. and
the personal archive of Mr. Takis Theocarakis. Of course, we used the - unfortunately - limited Greek literature on the Greek automotive sector, on the people, human networks, the evolution of the infrastructure, the automotive culture and the car market - for a field that is particularly extensive. Some of the aforementioned studies were prepared in the framework of the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law of the School of Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens. Specialised journals - belonging to the Library of the Parliament -, Transportation and Communication Statistics of the National Statistical Authority of Greece, as well as the registration statistics - since January 1999 - of the Association
of Motor Vehicle Importers Representatives (AMVIR).
The words and deeds of numerous people are included in our works. Acknowledgements are therefore due, in addition to Mr. Takis Theocarakis, who believed in this publication and honoured me with his trust, to Mr. Marios Barkis and Mr. Thanos Bafas, but
also to Mrs. Nicole Marinou and Mr. Dimitris Razis, for the fruitful, highly professional collaboration for the collective and ultimately so alluring, endeavour in hand.
