The treaty of accession to the EEC was signed on May 5th. Article
25 of the Treaty stipulated the reduction of tariffs on imports within Community Member States, until their complete lifting on January 1, 1986. Although the majority of Community members had restrictions on
the import of Japanese cars, in Greece there was no such issue.
The EEC made a commitment in 1993 to find a single solution to the problem, and our country agreed.
